Retreats

Join a small and welcoming community of writers for a personalized writing retreat at one of West Virginia’s most beautiful and historic B and B’s. Writers of all experience levels and projects are welcome—a perfect opportunity for those who have been wanting to dive into that book project, collection, essay, family history, or script. Retreat participants will be lodged in private rooms in an historical and beautiful Bed and Breakfast. (The Inn at Lost River was voted the Best B and B by readers of West Virginia Living in 2024.) Writers wanting to enjoy the outdoors might visit Trout Pond Recreation Area or Lost River State Park during breaks.
Facilitator is an award-winning writer, who has taught writing, coached writers, and facilitated writing communities for over 20 years.
Registration fee includes private room and all meals. A guest may accompany writers for an additional small fee.

A retreat schedule will be posted shortly.

Facilitated Writing Groups
A “facilitated writer’s group” includes one to two hour meetings of three or more writers. I handle the scheduling, Zoom link, and setting the tone for sharing drafts in progress and thoughtful, helpful commenting. A group will meet twice monthly for reading and discussion of each other’s works.
Registration for a facilitated writer’s group is $100 for five group meetings. Add a one-one-one session for $35.00.
Coaching
Michelle is offering coaching to those who have taken classes and in connection to writing retreats.
My coaching rate is $35 an hour, which includes 1/2 hour of reading outside the session and a one-on-one via zoom. A block of five sessions is $150.00.
